GIVING TO OUR CHURCH

Thanks to the support of people like you, our Church has been serving the Rutland community since 1723. Think about the number of parishioners who worshiped in our sanctuary in that time, or the number of people whose lives have been impacted by the good deeds members of this Church brought forth in nearly 300 years!

However, times are changing and we are struggling to keep our Church financially sound. We do not have an endowment to fall back on and we are dependent on rental income and gifts from our members to stay afloat.

Your gift not only keeps the Church alive, but also supports our mission work. We have renewed our commitment to outreach in our community and plan to increase awareness of all that we do.

WAYS TO GIVE

We’d like to make giving to our Church as easy as possible and the following are some of the ways you can make a contribution.

CHECK

Send your check, made payable to

First Congregational Church of Rutland

PO Box 484, Rutland, MA 01543

Or you can always drop a check in the offering plate during worship services.

If you’d like to designate your donation to Missions or one of our programs, please write that in the memo.

GIVE ONLINE

We are very excited to offer online giving for our Church. It is particularly great for recurring gifts, which you can set up at the frequency of your choice.

To make an online gift, click the donate button below and use donate@rutlanducc.org as the recipient.

If you are interested in giving from your non-cash assets, we recommend that you speak with your financial advisor first. There are many possible benefits to this kind of giving and the impact to our Church could be profound.

Our Church works with Bartholomew & Company, Inc. in Worcester for these non-cash gifts. For more information, contact the Church Office at 508-886-4453.

STOCKS & BONDS

Giving appreciated stock that you have owned for more than one year is one of the most tax-advantaged ways to make charitable gifts. This kind of gift can reduce your capital gains tax while supporting our Church.

RETIREMENT ASSETS

A gift of your retirement assets, such as an employee retirement plan, IRA, or tax-sheltered annuity, is an excellent way to make a gift and can shield you or your heirs from taxes while funding our Church’s future.

LIFE INSURANCE

Life insurance is a valuable asset for making a charitable gift. You can make a gift of a life insurance policy without diminishing other investments or assets earmarked for family members.

ESTATE PLANNING

Estate planning is the process of caring for yourself and your assets while you are living, and planning for the orderly transfer of assets to other persons and organizations– both during your life and afterwards. We recommend you discuss all the options with your attorney and let us know if you decide to include the Church in your estate plans.

THANK YOU!

Your support is greatly appreciated!
